Programme Manager - Research Development Demonstration

The Research, Development & Demonstration (RD&D) Unit is part of the SEAI Research & Technology Department. The SEAI Research & Technology Department includes teams in the areas of Research & Innovation, Offshore Energy, Electricity & Wind, Heat & Bioenergy, Nearly Zero Energy Buildings & High Performance Retrofit and Standards Development.

The team is composed primarily of analytical and technical experts from engineering, science or similar technical backgrounds who are focused on developing solutions to the challenge of decarbonising Ireland’s energy system. The Department plays a significant role representing Ireland abroad at the European Commission, International Energy Agency and in relation to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Programme Executive - Energy Modelling x 2 roles

The Data and Insights team at SEAI is responsible for informing evidence-based policy and decision-making and the implementation of sustainable energy solutions through the provision of policy-relevant research & guidance, robust evidence and energy modelling and statistics.

SEAI will be appointing two separate Programme Executive - Energy Modelling experts.

Both Programme Executives will join an analytical and technically expert team within SEAI who are focussed on understanding energy systems and providing evidence-based solutions to inform decision-making. These roles are responsible for providing detailed technical analysis to support the work of the energy modelling team and the wider Data and Insights team in their role to provide expert analytical advice to policy makers in the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC). Focus of the team is on modelling potential solutions and pathways for decarbonisation of heat, electricity and transport in Ireland.
